Job Overview

LPL Financial is seeking a Senior Engineer, Software Development Test (QE) to design, implement, and execute comprehensive quality engineering strategies across a variety of technology platforms and applications. This role is responsible for developing automated testing solutions, validating software functionality and performance, and partnering with cross‑functional teams to ensure high‑quality software delivery throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and test suites for web, API, and enterprise applications.
  • Create and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios to ensure coverage of functional and non‑functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, product owners, business stakeholders, and other technology teams to define testing strategies and quality standards.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects, partnering with development teams to support issue resolution and validation.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, performance, security, and user acceptance testing activities.
  • Integrate automated testing solutions into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery and release quality.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, and code reviews to promote testability and quality throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Monitor test execution results, quality metrics, and defect trends, providing regular status updates to project stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the improvement of quality engineering tools, processes, standards, and best practices.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) roles.
  • Experience designing and developing automated testing solutions using tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, NUnit, Postman, JMeter, or similar technologies.
  • Proficiency in at least one object‑oriented programming language, such as Java, C#, or Python.
  • Experience working within Agile software development environments and integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience performing API testing, database validation using SQL, and non‑functional testing activities including performance or security testing.

Pay Range
