Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our growing transportation practice in Bridgeport, West Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience, build technical expertise, and contribute to meaningful transportation projects while working alongside experienced licensed engineers.

Our Bridgeport office is one of the region's largest multidisciplinary engineering offices, bringing together more than 130 engineers, scientists, surveyors, and technical professionals. You'll collaborate with experts across multiple disciplines and gain exposure to a diverse mix of municipal, WVDOH, DOT, and private development transportation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the design and preparation of transportation improvement projects for municipal, WVDOH/DOT, and private development clients.
  • Perform engineering calculations, analyses, and technical evaluations related to roadway and transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Support geometric design, drainage design, construction staging, and plan production activities.
  • Prepare design quantities, cost estimates, and supporting project documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, survey, geotechnical, and environmental professionals.
  • Participate in project planning, design development, and project delivery efforts while gaining exposure to all phases of transportation engineering projects.
  • Develop technical skills in roadway design, drainage, plan production, and project delivery through hands-on project experience, mentorship, and support toward professional licensure.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related required
  • 0-4 years of Roadway/Transportation Engineering experience
  • Engineer Intern/Engineer in Training (EI/EIT) preferred
  • DOT/DOH project exposure is a plus
  • Experience designing with CADD software (OpenRoads or Civil 3D)
  • Experience in roadway geometric design, pavement design, construction document preparation, and Right-of-Way Plan Preparation is a plus
  • Experience in grading and drainage, hydrology and hydraulics, stormwater management, erosion and sediment pollution control, and utility coordination is a plus
