Job description

Bolton & Menk has a great opportunity for a Project Surveyor, LS to join our team in our Rochester office and serve our southern Minnesota clients. We are looking to add a licensed surveyor who will help foster our mission that All People Should Live in Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Communities!

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Direct and coordinate survey planning, schedules, processing, and project administration
  • Responsible for boundary calculations utilizing coordinate geometry software
  • Responsible for existing survey records, research, plan interpretation and the correct staking of surveying and engineering projects
  • Collecting, processing, interpreting and correcting field measurements and data for survey projects
  • Supporting business development activities through RFP’s, presentations and community engagement activities while developing relationships with clients
  • Mentoring and developing professional and technical survey staff

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited college (or state accepted educational equivalent for licensure)
  • Licensed Land Surveyor (LS) in State of Minnesota
  • 5+ years of progressive land survey experience
  • Effective management and leadership skills (i.e. operating with a sense of urgency, managing conflict, exercising tact and patience, providing constructive feedback)
  • Working knowledge and skills in CAD and survey software (i.e. AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation)
  • Working knowledge of specialized software processes for managerial, supervisory and QA/QC purposes appropriate to the area of practice
  • Possess valid driver’s license; May require travel, may include extended overnight stays

Bolton & Menk will currently not be providing visa sponsorship or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.

Salary Range: $73,000 - $110,000 depending on years of experience and credentials

Bolton & Menk is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to specific geographic location. Bolton & Menk reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
