We are seeking an early-career back-end/full-stack Software Engineer to join our team building and evolving our flagship digital web presence. The ideal candidate has foundational experience (through internships, projects, coursework, or early professional work) with .NET services, SQL (SQL Server a plus), and an interest in learning to design and operate GraphQL and RESTful APIs. You will work alongside experienced engineers and cross-functional partners to help deliver reliable, secure integrations across application services, data stores, and CMS capabilities (Optimizely exposure is a nice-to-have). Front-end experience (e.g., Next.js) is a bonus but not required. Above all, we're looking for someone eager to learn, grow, and contribute.
Your Responsibilities on the Team
Software Development:
  • Develop and maintain back-end and full-stack services with guidance, ensuring scalability, performance, reliability, and security.
  • Write clean, readable, and maintainable code, learning and applying best practices and coding standards.
  • Help build back-end services using .NET and contribute to API layers leveraging GraphQL (and REST as needed); learn to write and optimize data access patterns with SQL (preferably SQL Server). Front-end development in React/Next.js is a plus.
  • Leverage AI tooling to supercharge productivity and accelerate your learning.

Architecture and Design:
  • Learn the architecture and design of software systems and how they align with business goals and technical strategy.
  • Participate in technical design reviews, asking questions and contributing ideas as you grow your understanding.

Testing and Quality Assurance:
  • Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and automated tests to ensure software quality.
  • Help identify and resolve defects and performance issues, and participate in code reviews to learn and uphold high standards of code quality.
  • Work closely with QA teams to understand and apply testing strategies and processes.

Collaboration and Teamwork:
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality features and enhancements.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, contributing to the continuous improvement of the team's processes.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing updates on progress and potential challenges.
  • Help troubleshoot and resolve incidents as needed.

  • Actively seek feedback and mentorship from senior engineers, applying what you learn to improve your skills.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, a commitment to quality, and a willingness to take on new challenges.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience: 0-2 years in software engineering, with an interest in back-end and full-stack development across modern web platforms.
  • .NET / API Foundations: Some exposure to building scalable services using .NET and an eagerness to learn API design with GraphQL and REST.
  • Data & CMS Integration: Familiarity with relational data modeling and SQL Server; any experience with SQL Server or CMS platforms (Optimizely a plus) is a bonus.
  • Cloud Exposure: Familiarity with deploying to or working with cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus.
  • Agile Mindset: Openness to working in agile environments and adapting quickly to evolving requirements and priorities.
  • Problem Solving: Solid analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset and a proactive approach to ownership and accountability.

Additional Skills
While this role is primarily back-end/full-stack focused, experience in these areas is a plus:
  • CMS & Platform Engineering: Any experience with or interest in CMS platforms, with Optimizely a nice-to-have (content delivery, personalization, workflows, and integrations).
  • Cloud & Infrastructure: Basic familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
  • CI/CD & DevOps: Any exposure to version control (Git) and CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps (ADO) or GitHub Actions is a plus.
  • Architecture & Databases: An interest in learning API architecture (GraphQL and REST), service design, and database design with SQL Server.
  • Front-End Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with front-end engineers and, when needed, contribute to UI work in React/Next.js is a plus.

Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements:
