Profile:Active undergraduate student in Latin America with a background in Computer Science or related field.

As a Data Engineering Intern, you will join a renowned company, working on the development of projects to support existing applications as required by the business. This position requires good communication skills and strong technical knowledge across various technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our enterprise data pipelines, data warehouse, and data lake infrastructure.
  • Work with business teams to understand their needs and translate them into into actionable technical tasks.
  • Design and implement ETL processes using Databricks.
  • Perform testing and validation of ETL jobs and automated workflows.
  • Support existing systems including troubleshooting and performance tuning.
  • Maintain documentation of all processes used within the department.
  • Perform thorough self-review, testing, validation of ETL jobs and automated workflows before delivery

Job Qualifications

We are looking for a student who:

  • Is an active undergraduate student in Latin America with 12-24 months left to graduate.
  • Currently enrolled in a BS degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • If not located in Panama, can move to Panama until graduation and fully commit to delivering projects that will last at least 6 months.

Hard Skills:

  • Solid understanding of Python, SQL, and foundational data engineering concepts (ETL, data modeling, pipeline design
  • Familiarity with the big data ecosystem, particularly Databricks and Apache Spark.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Git and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to write and validate SQL queries for data profiling.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written in Spanish and English.

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to learn quickly and demonstrate strong discipline in self-organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, delivery-oriented environment
  • Is comfortable collaborating with people from different levels, backgrounds and experiences.
