Job description

Bolton & Menk is looking to add an Civil Project Manager - Water Resources to our team in Mankato and start leading a variety of interesting and complex stormwater quality, drainage design and modeling projects for our growing list of municipal clients throughout the Midwest. As a Water Resources Project Manager, you will be managing and leading a team of Engineers and Technicians to complete drainage design, plan development, and modeling for municipal and transportation projects, taking your projects from preliminary design through construction. You will be responsible for workload management, planning, scheduling, training, and performance of multiple engineering projects and personnel. Other responsibilities include marketing, business development, contract and budget management, and client outreach.

We are looking for candidates who are detail oriented and self-motivated and can encourage, lead, and grow a successful project team. This position is an opportunity to apply your engineering knowledge to a variety of projects and develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and staff from various communities and agencies. This position serves mainly Southern MN with opportunities to support projects as needed throughout all of our offices.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Hydrologic & hydraulic modeling for water resources, municipal, and transportation projects
  • Storm drain and culvert modeling and design
  • Stormwater quality Improvement modeling and design
  • Construction plan development & production
  • NPDES and MS4 Documentation and Compliance
  • Floodplain modeling and management
  • Wetland and Stream Restoration modeling and design
  • Manage preliminary and final design and construction phase services for water resource projects
  • Management of project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to multiple clients
  • Management of other staff members and subconsultants
  • Marketing, business development, and client communication

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent program from an accredited college
  • 8+ years of progressive engineering design and plan production experience
  • 2+ years of project management and team management experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Minnesota, or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Excellent interpersonal written & verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proven and effective supervisory and team leadership skills & experience
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Software skills including: GeoPAK Drainage, HydroCAD, XPSWMM, SSA, SRH-2D, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, P8, MIDS

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Masters Degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering
  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) or other Water Resources Specific certifications
  • FEMA, USACE, MNDNR, and Watershed District permitting
  • ArcGIS Pro skills
  • Intermediate AutoCAD and/or MicroStation Plan Production Experience
  • Experience working with Minnesota 103E Drainage Systems
  • Sanitary Sewer Modeling Experience

Salary Range: $115,000 - $155,000 depending on years of experience and credentials
