Intermountain Blending & Filling is looking for a Research & Development Intern to assist the Research and Development (R&D) team with developing sample product batches and reviewing and documenting results.


Hours are 8:00am-4:30pm M-F. This internship is expected to last through the end of August.

What You'll Do:

  • Review batch recipes, gather and weigh ingredients, and place ingredients in appropriate containers
  • Assist Scientists in preparation of formulations and evaluating the stability of batches to meet product standards and specifications
  • Conduct physical tests on batch samples including pH, viscosity, specific gravity, color, and odor to ensure product adheres to pre-determined specifications
  • Scan Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Certificate of Analysis (COFA) into the system
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records and logs of all work performedย 
  • Communicate batch non-conformance to leadershipย 
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment
  • Document data and results in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDPs)
  • Perform all other assigned tasks and requirements as neededย 

We're Looking For:

  • Associates degree in an Engineering or Science field or a high school diploma with equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of metric weights and measures required
  • Ability to accurately enter information into a computer
  • Ability to perform repetitive work while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Clear and direct written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to efficiently perform multiple tasks and complete task from the start all the way through to completion
  • Ability to follow specified processes and detailed instructions
  • Ability to solve straightforward problems and seek guidance as needed
  • Basic knowledge of computers and all applicable software including Microsoft Office; familiarity with ERP systems (such as SAP) a plus
  • Ability to work around strong scents and fragrance
  • Ability to discern scent and color hues
