Job Summary
The Software Development Engineer - Risk (TRMS) is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting software solutions for Trading & Risk Management Systems. This role focuses on risk analytics and reporting capabilities, including support for calculations such as Greeks, VaR, PFE, and XVA. The engineer will work closely with product managers, quantitative analysts, and engineering peers to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performing solutions that support front-office and risk management functions. The role also requires familiarity with emerging Agentic AI capabilities and how intelligent automation can be applied to software engineering, data workflows, and risk technology use cases.
Responsibilities
โ€ข Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications supporting Trading & Risk Management Systems.
โ€ข Build and enhance risk analytics and reporting solutions, including support for Greeks, VaR, PFE, and XVA calculations.
โ€ข Partner with product managers, quantitative analysts, and engineering teams to translate business and technical requirements into scalable software solutions.
โ€ข Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and microservices that integrate with internal and external systems.
โ€ข Integrate and support market data feeds and services from external vendors such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Markit, and similar providers.
โ€ข Apply AI-assisted development practices and support intelligent automation opportunities within engineering and risk workflows where appropriate.
โ€ข Contribute to the design or integration of Agentic AI solutions, such as workflow agents, reasoning assistants, or automation services, in support of engineering productivity and operational efficiency.
โ€ข Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes.
โ€ข Contribute to code reviews, testing, automation, and CI/CD processes to ensure high-quality software delivery.
โ€ข Maintain technical documentation and support ongoing platform improvements and modernization efforts.
Required Skills
โ€ข Hands-on Python development experience is required.
โ€ข Strong software development experience in Python or another object-oriented programming language.
โ€ข 4+ years of professional software development experience in the financial services industry.
โ€ข Experience working with Trading & Risk Management Systems and risk analytics/reporting platforms.
โ€ข Required background in dealing with and integrating market data vendors such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Markit, or similar providers.
โ€ข Experience developing backend applications, APIs, and microservices.
โ€ข Understanding of Agentic AI concepts, including autonomous workflows, orchestration frameworks, prompt-driven task execution, and AI-assisted software development tools.
โ€ข Experience or familiarity with integrating LLM-based capabilities, AI agents, or intelligent automation into enterprise applications is preferred.
โ€ข Proficiency with source control tools such as Git.
โ€ข Experience with testing frameworks, automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
โ€ข Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
โ€ข Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
Education and Experience
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
โ€ข 4+ years of software development experience within the financial services industry.
โ€ข Demonstrated experience integrating with market data vendors such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Markit, or comparable platforms.
โ€ข Experience supporting trading, pricing, or risk management workflows is strongly preferred.
โ€ข Exposure to AI/ML, intelligent automation, or Agentic AI frameworks in enterprise environments is a plus.
Salary Range
$137,770.00 - $178,250.00
This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living).
