Job description

We are currently hiring an early career (0-3 years of experience) Environmental Analyst to work within our Environmental Division's Due Diligence Program in our Buffalo, NY office.

LaBella's growing Due Diligence Program is one of the largest and most established in the eastern United States and is quickly expanding into other geographies. LaBella's due diligence practice services a wide variety of clients, consisting of municipalities, developers, attorneys, and financial institutions, each requiring client-centric and sometimes creative solutions. In addition to environmental due diligence services, LaBella's program provides construction risk due diligence services, including completing Property Condition Assessments, Plan and Cost Reviews, and Construction Draw Inspections. The size, expected growth, and geographies serviced by LaBella's Due Diligence Program create a unique and exciting opportunity for the professional growth of the right candidate while working with some of the region's most experienced environmental professionals within the environmental due diligence/environmental consulting industry.

Duties:

  • Prepare Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Transaction Screen ESAs, and Records Search with Risk Assessment (RSRA) reports with the support of Environmental Due Diligence Program senior staff/Project Managers.
  • Assist in the completion of Property Condition Assessments, Plan and Cost Reviews, and Construction Draw Inspections with the support of Construction Risk senior staff.
  • Conduct site visits throughout, but not limited to, western New York, including the Buffalo and Rochester metropolitan areas, for a variety of environmental and construction-related due diligence projects.
  • Obtain, review, and interpret historical, regulatory, and municipal records.
  • Report findings to due diligence team leaders and assist in the evaluation of environmental and construction-related risks.
  • Independently manage due diligence assignments and meet project deliverable schedules.

Requirements

  • BS in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field of study.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Experience with Quire or other report writing software platforms is a plus.
  • Experience (1-3 years) with environmental and construction-related due diligence projects such as Phase I ESAs, Transaction Screen ESAs, Phase II ESAs, Property Condition Assessments, and/or Draw Inspections is desired.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced due diligence team environment.
  • Good verbal, technical writing, communication, and time management skills are essential.

Salary Range: $20.00 - $22.00/hour
