Position Summary
The Assistant Softball Coach has the responsibility of organizing and conducting recruiting efforts, summer camps, and practice & game plan development in coordination with the Head Softball Coach; individual and small group instruction with team members; post-game video analysis; talent scouting; and individual meetings with the head coach & individual student-athletes.
The position is expected to attend practices and team meetings as well as travel with the team for away competitions. They will assist in the planning and execution of travel plans as assigned. Recruiting duties may include but are not limited to: scouting and evaluation, planning and executing campus visits, calls, emails, mailings, social media communication, and management of the recruiting database.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree/equivalent experience considered, plus one (1) year of experience consisting of prior competitive playing and/or coaching experience at the college level or equivalent.
Experience must demonstrate:
  1. Effective leadership of the team and the softball program
  2. The ability to diligently and effectively recruit and retain student-athletes. This includes being willing to travel in and out of state.
  3. Excellent knowledge of the sport
  4. An outstanding ability to teach the sport to student-athletes
  5. The ability to represent Doane University in a positive and effective manner.
