Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) solutions meeting performance and safety standards
  • Collaborate with systems, hardware, software, and test engineering teams for seamless system integration
  • Author high-level systems requirements in DOORS
  • Conduct system-level analysis and optimization
  • Perform systems integration, validation, and verification
  • Perform model-based systems design and development
  • Capture and manage system requirements with stakeholders
  • Ensure system specifications meet safety, performance, and compliance requirements
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies
  • Interact with customers
  • Oversee and coordinate projects
  • Support the Project Engineer with budget and schedule responsibilities
  • Report directly to the Senior Engineering Manager
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Systems Engineering, ideally in avionics, aerospace, communications or related disciplines
  • Proficiency in system-level analysis and optimization
  • U.S. Person status: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status, or ability to obtain export authorization
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering is valued
  • Proficiency in systems lifecycle methodologies, requirements management, and adherence to industry standards
  • Familiarity with system integration and testing
  • Aircraft systems knowledge
  • Air Traffic Control procedures knowledge
  • Experience with EGPWS or TAWS
  • Experience supporting DO-178 B/C, DO-160 aerospace or other industry standards and processes
  • Experience with ARP 4754
  • Experience with Jira, Bitbucket, DOORS, CC/CQ, TeamCenter, or similar avionics development tools
  • Experience leading customer interface meetings and representing product engineering
  • Experience supporting audits and key program reviews
  • Experience supporting or leading certification activities such as TSO, STC, and Type Certification
  • Advanced knowledge of systems development lifecycle
  • Ability to analyze, incorporate, and apply new information and concepts such as AI
  • Ability to work with little supervision and take initiative
  • Ability to adapt to project changes
  • Ability to manage complicated tasks and people
  • Ability to make autonomous decisions
