Job description

About Saylor

Saylor is an entertainment-led creative agency built for brands that want to earn attention, not interrupt it. Founded by former Netflix and Disney marketers, we exist at the intersection of culture, storytelling, and strategy, bringing the sensibility of entertainment to brands ready to act less like advertisers and more like creators.

Saylor exists to help brands become the show - not the ad break. We watched agencies keep making ads in a world where people want to be entertained. We started Saylor to change that: To help brandsact like creators, not corporations. To think like publishers, not advertisers. To stop chasing attention, and start earning it.

We're a tightknit crew who collaborate without ego, stay curious, and always show up for one another. We foster a supportive space where diverse perspectives are celebrated, hierarchy never blocks great ideas, and everyone is empowered to jump in, solve problems, and push creative boundaries together.

Position Overview

Saylor seeks a sharp, innovative Social Video Editor to help lead best-in-class creative campaigns for global brands on social media. This full-time role will work closely with the production, social and creative teams to bring creative concepts to life at the speed of online culture.

The ideal candidate is a multi-faceted creative who understands social media trends and content nuances. They understand what algorithms want and what piques social audiences' interests. They know the difference between a shitpost and brainrot. They know how to custom create content for varying brand voices and styling. They identify their editing style spectrum capabilities from lo-fi meme video to elevated paid social video. Their eye starts to twitch when the first three seconds of a social video doesn't hit.

About You

You've been raised in the social media trenches and you can spew a thesis about the spectrum of social video from memes to polished. You understand the value of speed over perfection in this social landscape. You're scrappy. You're one of the leaders of sharing content in your group chats. You thrive off of partnering with Social and Copy team members to bring unhinged, first-to-market creative that delights audiences to life. You overlap with Social and Copy because you understand and are enthusiastic about the creative development phase and want to participate in laying the foundation for hyper-engaging content.

Location and Salary

This is a full-time, exempt role with a salary range of $75,000-$105,000. This person must be LA-based and available to come into the Saylor office in Echo Park on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Responsibilities:

  • A key creative voice in social video execution; platform-native editorial instincts and a sharp sense of what performs on various platforms

  • Mastery of quality control, logos, framing for social, and other tactics
  • Ability to support in coloring, sound mixing, and captions, SRT file or transcript development as needed

  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet tight, high-volume deadlines
  • Ability to seamlessly bounce between edit projects of varying complexity
  • Extensive knowledge and awareness of current social marketing video tactics and trends across various platforms
