Job description

Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) designs, develops, and manufactures advanced composite components in order to help our customers push the frontiers of innovation. Our core strength is our ability to produce highly tailored, complex composite components. With our unique blend of products -- including 3D woven structures, traditional and non-traditional 2D composite structures, and discrete through thickness reinforcement technologies, to name a few -- AEC is able to produce composite components and products which meet performance and cost specifications often beyond the reach of metallic or conventional laminated composites.

AEC is seeking a Program Manager to support our Salt Lake City Aerostructures division. This position will direct all phases of programs from inception through completion including the program management, development and closure of change proposals, scope growth opportunities, and cost reduction activities. PM is responsible for the safety, quality, schedule, technical performance and cost (P&L responsibility) of company programs or subsystems of major programs. PM is the primary customer interface and is responsible for cultivating customer relationship. The position will also help provide support to the business management team in ensuring alignment and reconciliation between the program management and execution teams.

Additional Responsibilities may include:

  • Participating in the negotiation of contract andcontract changes
  • Coordinating the preparation of proposals, business plans, performance Statement of Work (SOW)and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract
  • Acting as primary customer contact forprogram activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technicalperformance
  • Establishingprogram Statement of Work andmilestones; continually monitoring adherence to master plans and schedules, identifying program problems and obtaining solutions, such asallocating resources or changing contractual specifications.
  • Leading new or established development, production or services program(s) for major components or medium systems
  • Program(s) may serve multiple customers and requires coordination of program requirements across planning stages with several subcontractors
  • Measurement and reporting of program performance
  • Applying advanced principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to provide solutions to a variety of program requirements. Requires coordination across program requirements
  • Responsible for the financial risk associated with execution of program(s). The financial risks are dependent on the specifics of the program(s), such as program size/complexity, strategic importance, contract type, technical risk, profit margin, growth potential, interdependencies between programs that may lead to tradeoffs etc.
  • Working closely with Business development to obtain new business or expanding the product line with the customer
  • Serving as primary customer contact for program information. May have primary responsibility for program growth, and be responsible for business development within current customer base and/or for new customers. May manage proposal efforts
