Overview
What You'll Be Doing
Cadmus seeks a Research Analyst to join its Market Research & Customer Insights team. Research Analysts are expected to conduct primary and secondary research on behalf of Cadmus' energy clients (primarily utilities and administrators of energy efficiency programs). This is an entry-level role in which the Research Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the management and execution of energy program evaluation and market research projects including conducting interviews, programming and fielding online surveys, data analysis, and administrative support tasks such as budget tracking and meeting support.
We are looking for candidates who have professional or academic experience in the field of energy efficiency or sustainability, in social science research methods, and/or in program evaluation. They should also be highly motivated to perform and learn, be able to work collaboratively and independently, manage assigned tasks and projects from start to finish with input from supervisors, and have exceptional written, verbal, and research skills. The team's preference is for a hybrid work situation such that candidates are located near one of our major offices and spend 1-2 days in the office per week.

Responsibilities
  • Support program evaluation leads in developing high-quality data collection tools including interview guides and surveys
  • Program and field online surveys in Qualtrics
  • Conduct phone interviews with energy efficiency program staff, utility customers, and other market actors
  • Analyze survey, interview, and utility program data to identify trends, summarize key findings, and describe the relationship of program activities to program results
  • Assist with developing client PowerPoint presentations, memos, and reports
  • Help create clear, high-impact figures and visuals to accompany presentations and reports
  • Provide administrative assistance to project managers through budget tracking and project planning
  • Communicate professionally through conferencing/telephone and email with colleagues and clients in varying time zones

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in social sciences, environmental studies, business, or a related field
  • 0-2 years of work experience in analytical or research roles
  • Exceptional critical thinking and research/data examination skills
  • Exemplary self-management skills including the ability to: manage time efficiently, organize complex information, prioritize tasks across multiple projects/clients, initiate tasks independently, and seek advice when appropriate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Experience conducting social science research, including interviews, surveys, focus groups, and/or literature reviews
  • Experience writing research reports
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Some domestic travel may be required

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with the energy industry, renewable energy, electrification, or sustainability
  • Knowledge of statistics; experience running and interpreting statistical analyses
  • Experience using Qualtrics or other survey software
  • Experience using analytical applications such as R or Python

Additional Information:
Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as a U.S Perm Resident or U.S. Citizen.

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000. The actual salary will be determined by several factors, including relevant work experience, education, skills, and market competitiveness.
