Job description

DCS Asset Maintenance (DCSAM) is looking for reliable CDL Drivers to help keep Virginia roads clear and safe during winter weather. This position is on an on-call basis and will only be needed during periods of inclement winter weather.

What Youโ€™ll Do:

  • Operate snowplow trucks safely and responsibly during winter storms.
  • Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety rules.
  • Do pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues right away.
  • Communicate with your Route Manager or Dispatch about any unsafe situations or service needs.
  • Take part in required safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Help other drivers or routes when needed.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be 18 or older.
  • Have a valid Class A or B CDL.
  • Pass a DOT drug screen, and MVR review.
  • Have a clean driving record โ€” no serious violations or multiple accidents within the past 5 years.
  • Be willing to travel to snow locations and stay for the duration of the event (hotel, travel time, and per diem paid by DCS).
  • Prior snowplow experience is helpful but not required.
  • Must attend an 8-hour in-person snow training before the season starts.
  • Work is needed, depending on winter weather events determined by VDOT.
