About the role

We're looking for a Senior SQL Developer to join our growing Database Marketing team.

Reporting to the Database Marketing Manager, the Senior SQL Developer will help prepare and execute marketing campaigns. You will be responsible for SQL programming on Snowflake, data extraction, list and segment creation, coordination of timelines, and process documentation.

You will also leverage your business domain knowledge and analytical skills to advance the relationshipmarketing database environment. You will propose improvements to data structures and processes and participate in the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of this environment while adhering to datasecurity guidelines.

This role is pivotal in driving targeted marketing initiatives, including direct marketing and client communications within an omnichannel engagement approach.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Extraction and Programming

  • Program and perform data extractions for relationship marketing activities (email, postal mail, media audiences, surveys) primarily using SQL, meeting stakeholder requirements and deadlines.

  • Actively participate in the design, implementation, and maintenance of data processing workflows in Snowflake for campaign production, results tracking, and reporting.

Data Modeling and Optimization

  • Understand, analyze, and document the department's business needs as well as operational and dataprocessing procedures.

  • Propose and implement improvements to data structures and processes to optimize efficiency and performance.

Collaborative Leadership

  • Represent the team in crossfunctional projects to communicate data needs and explain the impact of changes to our processes.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members, helping them leverage data effectively for campaign optimization and decisionmaking.

Data Quality Assurance

  • Ensure systems meet business standards by performing analyses, making recommendations, and developing evaluations.

  • Develop and implement data quality checks to proactively identify and resolve inconsistencies, duplicates, and errors.

Continuous Improvement

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing innovative solutions to enhance data engineering practices.

  • Stay current with trends and advancements in programming, big data technologies, AI, and marketing analytics.

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Intelligence, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a similar role. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

  • Excellent command of SQL and strong knowledge of relational databases.

  • 2+ years' experience with Snowflake and Python is required.

  • Knowledge of Git, GitHub, and GitHub Copilot is a strong asset.

  • Knowledge of Power BI is an asset.

  • Excellent analytical and synthesis skills, with strong attention to detail and rigor.

  • Experience working in dynamic, fastchanging environments.

  • Autonomy, resourcefulness, and a proactive approach to problem solving.

  • Strong team spirit and collaborative leadership skills.
