Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Snowflake Platform Engineer with strong expertise in Snowflake administration, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Terraform-based automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, securing, and automating enterprise-scale Snowflake environments while ensuring adherence to governance, security, and operational best practices.
The candidate must possess deep knowledge of Snowflake platform engineering, RBAC implementation, network security controls, warehouse lifecycle management, and CI/CD-driven infrastructure deployment. Experience in building fully automated Snowflake provisioning frameworks using Terraform is essential.
 
Key Responsibilities
Snowflake Platform Engineering
•     Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-scale Snowflake environments.
•     Build and maintain Snowflake platform standards, governance models, and operational procedures.
•     Provision and manage databases, schemas, warehouses, integrations, roles, and security objects.
•     Implement scalable and reusable Snowflake architecture patterns.
•     Optimise Snowflake performance, resource utilisation, and operational costs.

Infrastructure as Code & Automation
•     Develop and maintain Terraform modules for Snowflake infrastructure provisioning.
•     Automate deployment of:
o     Virtual Warehouses
o     Databases and Schemas
o     RBAC Roles
o     Users and Service Accounts
o     Storage Integrations
o     External Stages
o     Network Policies
o     Resource Monitors
•     Create reusable IaC frameworks that support multi-environment deployments.
•     Implement GitOps principles and automated deployment pipelines.

DevOps & CI/CD
•     Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake platform deployments.
•     Integrate Snowflake infrastructure deployment with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
•     Automate change management, validation, testing, and release processes.
•     Implement environment promotion strategies across Development, QA, UAT, and Production.
•     Develop automated rollback and recovery procedures.

Security & Governance
•     Design and implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) frameworks.
•     Define and maintain Snowflake security standards and governance policies.

Monitoring & Operations
•     Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability frameworks.
•     Troubleshoot platform issues and resolve production incidents.
•     Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
•     Maintain platform documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.

Collaboration
•     Partner with Data Engineering, Security, Architecture, and Operations teams.
•     Provide technical leadership and platform guidance.
