Job description

We are looking for a Project Estimator for our installation division!

Join the leading landscaping company in Chicagoland. Beverly Companies is family owned and has been providing full-service landscaping for both commercial and residential properties throughout the Chicago area for over 27 years. Our services include landscaping, snow removal, paving, & topsoil.

We are one of the largest and best rated landscaping & snow removal companies in Illinois. We are currently members of BOMA/Suburban, BOMA/Chicago, Landscape Illinois, IREM, SIMA, MPBHBA, & Chief Engineer.


The Project Estimator will report to the General Manager. This position will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for landscape construction and installation projects, ensuring all bids align with project scope, timelines, and company profitability goals. The Estimator will work closely with sales, design, and operations teams from bid through project handoff.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for landscape construction and installation projects.
  • Review plans, specifications, and site conditions to determine project requirements.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for materials including plants, hardscape, soil, and aggregates.
  • Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with sales and design teams to develop accurate and competitive proposals.
  • Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings to gather project information.
  • Identify potential risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving alternatives.
  • Assist in developing project budgets and timelines.
  • Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and historical cost data.
  • Support project handoff to operations team, ensuring clear scope and expectations..


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in estimating within landscaping, construction, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of landscape construction methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Chicagoland market pricing and site conditions preferred.


Compensation & Benefits:

  • $80,000 - $100,000
  • 401(k) Plan (enrollment available after 6 months and 1,000 hours of employment)
  • Health Insurance—Group Health Plan with 50% company contribution (eligible the first day of the month after 2 full months).
  • PTO—10 days in the first year, plus 1 additional day earned each subsequent year (max 15 days), accrued monthly.
