Position: Dishwasher
Department: Kitchen / Back of House (BOH)
Reports To: Kitchen Manager, Chef, or Supervisor


Job Summary

The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen. This role ensures all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen areas are clean, organized, and ready for service while supporting the kitchen team as needed.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment in accordance with Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) regulations.
  • Properly operate and maintain dishwashing machines and sanitizing equipment.
  • Maintain correct sanitizer concentrations and test sanitizer solutions as required.
  • Follow SNHD guidelines for cleaning and sanitizing food-contact surfaces.
  • Keep dishwashing, storage, and kitchen areas clean, organized, and sanitary at all times.
  • Sweep, mop, and maintain floors to prevent slip and fall hazards.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers and keep waste areas clean.
  • Restock clean dishes, utensils, and supplies in designated areas.
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries following proper food safety procedures.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or sanitation concerns to management immediately.
  • Assist with basic food preparation and cleaning duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Current SNHD Food Handler Safety Training Card required or must be obtained within the required timeframe.
  • Knowledge of SNHD food safety and sanitation regulations preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
  • Previous restaurant experience preferred but not required.


Food Safety Responsibilities

  • Follow proper handwashing procedures at all times.
  • Prevent cross-contamination by following SNHD food safety guidelines.
  • Use approved cleaning chemicals and store them properly.
