We are looking for a MEAT CLERK to join our Rowe's team.
The purpose of this position is to ensure the quality, freshness, safety, and profitability of Rowe’s fresh cut meat products. Directly responsible for traying and scraping product, cutting offals (both beef and pork), smoked meat, turkey parts, neck bones, making grinds, traying chicken, getting product for cutters, working trucks, cleaning up, taking out trash, and ensuring production never stops. You are the piece of the puzzle that keeps the train moving throughout the day. Every time the conductor (Cutter) has to stop to do something the train comes to a halt and has to start over. The job cannot get done efficiently without this key piece. You get a bird’s eye view all day long on the job you are training to be. Have to have a great work ethic and a can do attitude to excel in this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide exceptional customer service including greeting customers and answering questions with a positive attitude.
  • Safely operates meat cutting equipment and tools to trim pork, beef and poultry following productivity standards.
  • Rotate product, clean and neatly stack like items together, Dates product, handles any loose or leaking product.
  • Makes grinds with tubes or trim, Memorized company standards on fat content and package specs, places loafs in tray with hands, able to blend product for consistent texture and color
  • Maintains high sanitization and presentation standards.
  • Assists in other duties as assigned.
  • Follow established departmental and store policies and procedures
  • Assists as needed to ensure the success of the store.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to deliver friendly and prompt customer service.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and problem solve.
  • Ability to work well with others and work well as a team
  • Continually strives to be product minded, customer minded, detailed, consistent and forward focused.
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • A passion for serving others
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Meat Clerks perform duties primarily in the meat area, where the temperature always ranges from 38 to 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Work involves reaching, bending, balancing, and carrying product weighing up to 100 pounds, repetitive arm and hand movements, eye-hand coordination, significant hand strength, and standing in place for long periods of time.
