Job Description

Conduct thorough patient assessments including medical history review and vital signs measurement.
Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and other preventive procedures using appropriate tools and techniques.
Educate patients on oral hygiene best practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
Assist dentists chairside using four-handed dentistry methods.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with HIPAA and clinic policies.
Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for patient management and documentation.
Implement infection control and aseptic protocols to ensure patient safety.
Support pediatric dentistry efforts and collaborate effectively with the dental team.
Stay current with dental technology advancements, including medical imaging and dental terminology.

Salary Range

Part-time $60 - $100 per hour

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Certified Dental Assistant credential.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in dental assisting and dental hygienist roles within clinical settings.
Proficiency with dental software systems (Eaglesoft, Dentrix) and electronic health records (EHR).
Strong knowledge of anatomy, patient assessment, dental terminology, and infection control protocols.
Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality under HIPAA regulations.
Excellent communication skills and patient counseling experience.
Experience in performing dental scaling, diagnostic evaluation, and patient charting.

Preferences

Experience working with pediatric patients.
Knowledge of medical coding related to dental care.
Familiarity with four-handed dentistry techniques.
Skilled in operating medical imaging equipment.
