Job description

Position: Production Engineers x2

Location: Onsite Charles City, IA

Duration: 3-6 months+

Visa: USC/GC/GC-EAD/H4-EAD

Job Description: Our pharmaceutical client is seeking two contract Production Engineers to provide hands-on manufacturing support within a regulated GMP environment. These engineers will support day-to-day plant operations by reviewing batch record documentation, monitoring process performance, and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment. The role partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Area Leadership to investigate issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Provide on-floor manufacturing support for GMP production operations

·         Review batch records and manufacturing documentation for accuracy and compliance

·         Monitor plant and process performance; investigate deviations and operational issues

·         Lead root cause investigations and author corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)

·         Troubleshoot plant equipment in collaboration with Maintenance and Engineering

·         Author and revise SOPs, work instructions, and manufacturing procedures

·         Lead or support process improvement initiatives

·         Support operator training and provide technical guidance to production teams

·         Serve as a key communication link between operators, engineers, maintenance, and leadership

Required Experience & Skills:

·         ~5–8 years of experience in pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing (flexible range)

·         Strong knowledge of plant/process equipment such as reactors, pumps, filter dryers, vacuum systems, valves, tanks, piping, and utilities (gas, steam, HVAC, chilled water, etc.)

·         Solid understanding of GMP manufacturing and documentation practices

·         Comfortable working on the floor and engaging cross-functionally

·         Strong communication skills and a collaborative, hands-on mindset

·         Ability to lead small teams and influence improvements without direct authority
