Job description

Customer Service | Operations | Customer Relationships

Looking for More Than Just Another Office Job?

If you're the person everyone depends on to keep things organized, enjoys helping customers, and takes pride in making a business run smoothly, this may be the opportunity you've been looking for.

Smith-Built Metals is seeking a professional, customer-focused Branch Operations Coordinator to become the heart of our Dawson branch. This isn't an entry-level administrative position. You'll work directly with our General Manager, support customers throughout their projects, and play an important role in the daily success of the branch.

We're looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and taking ownership - not someone looking for "just another job."

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Competitive compensation: $45,000-$52,000 starting salary, based on experience, plus performance-based bonus opportunities
  • Monday-Friday schedule so you can enjoy your evenings and weekends
  • Benefits and paid time off for added peace of mind
  • A stable, locally owned company with a reputation for treating employees well
  • Work directly with leadership and have a voice in the business
  • Training and support to help you succeed - even if you don't know our products yet
  • A role with variety where no two days are the same
  • A career opportunity with room to grow as the company continues to expand
  • A close-knit team that values professionalism, accountability, and helping one another succeed

Most importantly, you'll join a company that values relationships - with both our customers and our employees. We're looking for someone who wants to build a career, and we're committed to investing in the right person.

What You'll Do

As our Branch Operations Coordinator, you'll help keep the office running efficiently while delivering exceptional service to every customer.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Welcome and assist walk-in customers and answer incoming phone calls
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and returning customers
  • Prepare customer quotes and assist customers through the ordering process
  • Follow up on quotes and customer inquiries to help move projects forward
  • Enter customer orders and quotations into our accounting system
  • Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to ensure timely order fulfillment
  • Perform daily office operations, reporting, cash handling, and closing procedures
  • Assist with inventory counts and administrative reporting
  • Maintain a professional, organized office environment
  • Support the General Manager with day-to-day branch operations

This role combines customer service, office operations, and relationship management to help ensure every customer receives an exceptional experience.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Friendly and professional
  • Highly organized
  • Detail-oriented
  • Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment
  • An excellent communicator
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks
  • Customer-focused
  • Dependable
  • Self-motivate
  •  Eager to learn

Experience in construction, building materials, roofing, hardware, contractor sales support, or similar industries is a plus - but it's not required.

Join Smith-Built

We're not just hiring someone to answer phones or process paperwork. We're looking for someone who wants to become an important part of our team and help us continue building lasting relationships with our customers.

If you're ready for a career where your work matters and your contributions are valued, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and build your future with Smith-Built, and equal opportunity employer.
