Job description

Plan Group Inc. is a leader in the construction industry providing project management and engineering solutions on various leading-edge projects from a Technology perspective. We have been an integral partner in the design, engineering and implementation of systems and infrastructure systems as well as providing managed services.

We are currently seeking a driven, technically fluent Sales Executive to join our Technology Division. This is a high-impact, client-facing role where you will champion our full suite of intelligent building, transportation, and healthcare technology solutions — selling directly to end users and engineering consultants. If you live and breathe smart technology, have an established owner-direct network, and want to be the voice of innovation a market that's ready for it, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities with building owners, facility managers, and engineering consultants in target verticals Lead early-stage project engagement — influencing design specifications and positioning Plan Group as the preferred technology partner
  • Leverage deep technical expertise in building and transportation technologies—including Building Integration Platforms, Networks, IoT, Audio Visual, and Energy Management Systems—to engage confidently at a technical level.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and ROI-driven business cases tailored to each client's operational objectives
  • Build and grow a robust sales pipeline with accurate forecasting and CRM discipline
  • Cultivate long-term relationships that generate repeat business, referrals, and specification wins
  • Stay current on industry standards, emerging smart technologies, and competitive landscape to continuously sharpen market positioning
  • Partner internally with engineering and operations to ensure solution accuracy and delivery confidence in proposals

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience in a relevant technology sector (Smart Buildings, Smart Healthcare)
  • Demonstrated track record in direct-to owner or owner-representative sales — not exclusively contractor-to-contractor
  • Technical background in one or more of the following: building automation, energy management, integration, low-voltage systems, security, or structured cabling
  • Proven existing client relationships within the Smart Buildings, Healthcare, or Transportation sectors — a portable book of business is a strong asset
  • Experience working with engineering consultants and participating in specification-driven sales processes
  • Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering Technology, Building Sciences, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent field experience)
  • Familiarity with project delivery models including design-build, design-assist, and stipulated-price contracting
