Job description

Automation & Smart Factory Engineer

Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana

We are building the next generation of smart manufacturing systems inside a high-volume injection molding facility supplying global OEMs.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy building machines, automation, and connected factory systems.

Projects include:

• Developing sensor-based quality detection systems
• Designing automated assembly and packaging equipment
• Integrating factory equipment with Plex MES
• Developing AGV material delivery systems
• Building machine vision inspection systems
• Creating Andon and real-time production monitoring systems

You will work directly on the factory floor designing and building real equipment.

Ideal Skills

We are not looking for one specific background. Candidates may come from:

• Controls engineering
• Mechatronics
• Robotics
• Mechanical design
• Industrial automation
• Manufacturing engineering

Experience with any of the following is useful:

• PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc)
• Sensors and industrial I/O
• machine vision systems
• robotics or cobots
• CAD for fixtures or automation devices
• SQL / MES integration
