BETA Group, Inc. is seeking motivated candidates for our 2027 Summer Internship - Drinking Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater Engineering program. As an intern, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of real-world environmental, drinking water, stormwater, and wastewater projects alongside a team of experienced engineers, planners, and scientists. This is a valuable opportunity to learn from industry leaders and gain practical skills that will support your future in engineering.
Responsibilities:
  • Gain valuable hands-on experience to begin building your engineering career
  • Apply classroom knowledge to real-world water and environmental engineering challenges
  • Conduct field investigations, data collection, and site visits with engineering staff
  • Support a variety of active projects across both design and construction phases
  • Contribute to project tasks and deliverables while learning new technical skills
  • Develop a deeper understanding of the engineering profession through practical experience
  • Collaborate with and learn from experienced engineers, planners, and technical staff

Requirements
Skills Required :
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or related field
  • Understanding of general engineering theory and concepts
  • Proficient in the use of current technology (i.e., tablets, smart phones, laptops, etc.)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong technical aptitude with an eagerness to learn
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Must be able to collect field data and measurements including but not limited to roadway, sidewalk, and utility assets; and perform asset inspections
  • Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow)
  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred Experience:
  • General working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or other CAD platform
  • OSHA 10 Certification
