POSITION SUMMARY:The Electrical Manufacturing Engineering Intern supports the Manufacturing Engineering team in improving production processes, enhancing efficiency, and maintaining safe and effective operations within a manufacturing environment. This role provides hands-on experience in applying engineering principles to real-world production challenges while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: 

  • Assist in monitoring manufacturing processes and identifying issues 
  • Support basic troubleshooting and production activities under supervision 
  • Help document and standardize work practices and procedures 
  • Assist with workstation layout, line balance, and production flow 
  • Participate in production meetings and complete follow-up actions 
  • Support investigations into process performance and efficiency 
  • Assist with tool and equipment coordination 
  • Help maintain production documentation (e.g., kit lists, takt charts, SOPs) 
  • Complete assigned tasks and projects aligned with internship goals 
  • Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: 

  • Currently pursuing post-secondary education in Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field 
  • Strong interest in manufacturing  environments 
  • Eagerness to learn and apply technical concepts 
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing or continuous improvement (Lean is an asset) 
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset 
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills 
  • Experience with ERP or quality management systems such as Syspro or Q-Pulse is an asset

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, while wearing PPE 
  • Adherence to Environmental Health & Safety standards
