Job description

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Sales and Development Engineer to join our team in the commercial construction sector. This role focuses on developing, presenting, and selling AI-enabled solutions for complex buildings such as hospitals, airports, university campuses, and military bases. The Sales Engineer will also be responsible for promoting and positioning planning and construction services for advanced technology infrastructure including local area networks, Wi-Fi, cellular DAS, physical security, audiovisual, nurse call systems, and smart patient room technologies.
The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong client-facing skills, capable of bridging the gap between engineering design, construction services, and business development.
Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development & Client Engagement
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and owners.
    • Identify opportunities to integrate AI solutions that optimize building operations, safety, and user experience.
    • Conduct technical presentations and demonstrations of solutions tailored to complex facilities.
  • Technical & Sales Support
    • Collaborate with clients to understand business goals, operational requirements, and infrastructure needs.
    • Translate technical requirements into scalable, future-ready solutions for network, security, audiovisual, and smart-building technologies.
    • Prepare proposals, RFP responses, and solution designs with accurate scope, budget, and risk considerations.
  • Strategic Solution Development
    • Work with engineering and operations teams to develop integrated offerings in AI-driven analytics, automation, and building systems.
    • Position advanced infrastructure systems (LAN, Wi-Fi, DAS, AV, security, nurse call, smart patient rooms) as key enablers for healthcare, education, aviation, and defense environments.
    • Support planning and preconstruction efforts, ensuring solutions align with project schedules and budgets.
  • Market & Industry Expertise
    • Stay current on emerging AI applications, smart-building technologies, and construction delivery models.
    • Contribute to thought leadership, representing the company at conferences, trade shows, and client workshops.
    • Provide feedback to product and service development teams to align with customer demands and market trends.
  • General Management and Business Execution
    • Work directly with the Vice President and General Manager of the AMSYS Smart Buildings business unit and his executive leadership team on a variety of initiatives:
      • Client and Project Development
      • Financial plans and forecasts
      • Staffing structures
      • Strategic planning

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Construction Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales engineering, technology integration, or construction services (experience with healthcare, aviation, education, or defense facilities strongly preferred).
  • Proven success in selling and positioning complex technology infrastructure solutions.
  • Familiarity with AI, IoT, smart-building systems, and digital twin applications in construction and facility management.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, project delivery methods, and MEP/technology integration.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across technical and business functions in a matrixed environment.
