Are you a natural at customer service and an animal lover? Join the Polkadog Bakery team as a part-time Retail Sales Associate in any of our pet stores! We’re looking for friendly, energetic, and dependable people who want to help pets (and their humans) have the best shopping experience possible.

Founded in 2002 in Boston’s historic South End, Polkadog Bakery began as a tribute to a one-eyed rescue dog named Pearl. Our mission is simple: use the finest ingredients in our treats and provide the best pet products to create a complete picture of health and happiness for every pet.


We’re a growing pet retail company dedicated to creating a positive workplace where employees love what they do, grow professionally and personally, and make a real impact on our success. Location: Chestnut Hill, MA

Part-time Hours: 10-20 hrs/week 

Full-time Hours: 30+ hrs/week 


What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities) 

  • Ensures that each customer is greeted and provides outstanding customer service.
  • Directs customers to merchandise.
  • Drives sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge.
  • Manages cash and credit transactions.
  • Reconcile the cash drawer at night.
  • Maintaining the appearance of the store. (Cleaning, stocking, and merchandising)
  • Assists with weekly intake of orders to include accuracy of delivered product, stocking store and placing product in back stock. (Includes lifting up to 50lbs)
  • Assists with in-store events. (preparation, execution, and breakdown)
  • Works as part of the team to achieve set goals.


Qualifications

  • Retail, sales, or customer service experience preferred (especially in pet retail).
  • Passion for animals and willingness to learn about pet products.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliability, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
