Assistant Equipment Technician / Mechanic

Cherokee Town & Country Club in Sandy Springs, GA is seeking a full-time Assistant Equipment Technician / Mechanic to join our golf course maintenance team. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who enjoys fixing things, takes pride in their work, and wants to be part of a supportive and fun team environment.
What You'll Do:
As an Assistant Equipment Technician / Mechanic, you'll be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical issues in a variety of golf course maintenance equipment. Your daily tasks will include:
  • Performing inspections and preventative maintenance on mowers, tractors, and small engines
  • Grinding reels and bed knives, sharpening rotary blades to keep mowing equipment in top shape
  • Diagnosing and repairing 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines, both gasoline and diesel-powered
  • Following proper procedures for recycling and disposal of fluids (oil, antifreeze, filters, etc.)
  • Keeping the work area safe, clean, and organized
  • Reporting equipment needs and repair concerns to the Equipment Manager or Superintendents

What We're Looking For:
  • Experience with small engine repair (2-cycle and 4-cycle)
  • Prior experience sharpening mower blades
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift/move heavy objects and work outdoors in various weather conditions
