Job description

Salary:

Greenfield Supply Centeris looking for a personable, reliable, and hardworking member to join our service team, focused on small engines and compact equipment. Under general supervision, inspects, repairs, rebuilds, adjusts, assembles, maintains, and/or installs one or several related types of mechanical assemblies while also performing routine task in maintenance, repair, or installation of equipment, and machinery and/or operates mechanical equipment. Range of equipment will include but not be limited to chainsaw repairs, lawn equipment, snow equipment,


As a small engine and compact equipment service technician, your job duties would include but are not limited to:


  • Identify mechanical, electrical, and fuel system problems and make necessary repairs.
  • Perform all machine and/or engine repairs and adjustments.
  • Test and verify correct operations of all repairs.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with customers.
  • Set up new equipment to prepare it for sale.
  • General and preventative maintenance.
  • Assist with plow and spreader installations.
  • Performs emergency repairs as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience as a service mechanic.
  • Must have your own tools.
  • Experience with 2 and 4 cycle motors.
  • Ability to read English sufficiently to be able to read information contained in manuals, regulations, and reports, including safety issues and related matters.
  • Ability to speak English and communicate with others.
  • Basic English language skills for completion of various paperwork.
  • Ability to speak Spanish would be helpful, but not required.
  • Use basic mathematical skills, including basic arithmetic functions and common units of measurements.
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
  • May be required to work overtime and/or different shifts when circumstances warrant as determined by the supervisor.


Physical Requirements:

Must be able to safely operate equipment, mount and dismount equipment, safely hook-up, secure and transport equipment. Periods of extensive sitting, standing and squatting are routinely required. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
