Job description

The Truck Shop Mechanic will be an integral part of our in-house maintenance team, responsible for ensuring the operational reliability of our fleet of heavy vehicles. Reporting directly to the Shop Manager, this role requires a skilled mechanic who can perform detailed diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance while adhering to safety standards. The position is based on-site with no travel requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle maintenance and engine repair on heavy trucks
  • Service and repair hydraulic systems and components
  • Conduct diagnostic testing and fault finding using specialized tools
  • Carry out preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend vehicle lifespan
  • Perform safety inspections and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Replace worn or damaged parts efficiently and accurately
  • Apply welding and fabrication skills to repair and modify equipment
