Opening in Fall 2026 in Wylie, TX, Moxie offers engaging classes for kids, teens, and families in digital art, animation, drawing, painting, crafts, and creative technology. The studio focuses on hands-on experiences that help students build confidence, explore their creativity, and turn bold ideas into finished projects using both traditional and digital tools. From iPad illustration and animation to fluid art and mixed media, Moxie provides a colorful, high-energy environment designed to spark curiosity and self-expression. Prospective team members will join a welcoming, supportive space dedicated to nurturing the next generation of creators.
Role Description The Part Time Art Instructor will lead small group classes and workshops for kids, teens, and families in an on-site setting at our Wylie, TX studio. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and delivering age-appropriate lessons in drawing, painting, crafts, and introductory digital art, while fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment. The instructor will demonstrate techniques, guide students through projects step-by-step, provide individualized feedback, and encourage creative problem-solving. Additional tasks include preparing materials and studio spaces, maintaining a safe and organized classroom, collaborating with staff on program ideas, and communicating with families about student progress and class activities. This is a part time, in-person role with afternoon, evening, and weekend hours as needed.
Qualifications
  • Ability to design engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and project sequences using Curriculum Development skills.
  • Strong Teaching skills, including classroom management, clear instruction, and the ability to support diverse learning styles.
  • Proficiency in Painting techniques suitable for beginners and intermediate students, with the ability to demonstrate step-by-step processes.
  • Solid Drawing skills, including fundamentals such as line, shape, shading, and composition.
  • Broad Art knowledge across traditional and modern media, with enthusiasm for introducing creative technology tools.
  • Experience working with children or teens in educational, camp, or studio settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient, encouraging teaching style.
  • Ability to set up and maintain a safe, organized, and clean studio environment.
  • Availability for part time hours, including some afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
  • Degree or formal training in Art, Art Education, or a related field is preferred but not required; equivalent experience is valued.
