We are growing and in need of Class A CDL/ Slurry Truck Operators for our VSS International, Inc. facility.

A Pension Program, Life Insurance, AD&D and opportunities for growth and development. We are seeking a skilled and reliable Class A Slurry Driver to join our team. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where safety, precision, and efficiency are top priorities. Our Slurry driver will also assist our Slurry/Chip crews to ensure the tasks are completed.

VSS International, Inc. is a leader in Pavement Preservationand and its Slurry Operator's Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily pre/post trip inspections of vehicle in accordance with DOT and company policies.
  • Control the output of materials in order to produce material according to required specification.
  • Ensure company safety rules are always followed.
  • Direct squeegee employees in order to produce a perfect finished product.
  • Perform minor repairs to paving machine and box as needed.
  • Assist and direct the paving crew with hand work and clean up as needed.
  • Communicate with line driver to ensure no gutter spills occur.
  • Communicate all safety, quality or production issues to superintendent.
  • Meet with superintendent daily to establish a production plan for the day.
  • Assist Slurry/Chip crews complete labor
  • Some travel is required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Class A Commercial License
  • Must possess excellent commercial driving skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to supervise and direct squeegee employees in a professional manner.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education & experience.
  • 1-3 years of work on a slurry crew.
  • abillity to drive a manual transmission is a must.
  • Must be at least 21years of age
  • Minimium 2 years CDL experience
WORK ENVIORNMENT :
  • Works alone and with others
  • Works in outside weather conditions subjecting incumbent to extreme heat and extreme cold.
  • Exposed to fumes/odors/dirt/dust/heat/cold/noise/wetness and humidity and vibration.
  • Often exposed to darkness and/or poor lighting.
  • Exposed to pressurized equipment, moving objects, high places and hazardous materials.
  • Exposed to elevated workplace/mechanical hazards, explosives, electrical hazards and fire hazards.
  • Standing for long periods of time in one place.
  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs with assistance. 50lb without assistance.
  • Climate often hot in summer and cold in winter.
