Position: Slot Technical Supervisor
Department: Slots
Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Slot Technical Manager, performs management duties of considerable difficulty for the operation of the Casino Del Sol Slot Department; performs related work as required or assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities: (Specific areas of responsibility included but not limited to).
  • Oversee Slot Technical operations.
  • Performs supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, such as interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; and employee relations.
  • Supervises and delegates all Slot Technical staff.
  • Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures.
  • Prepares and monitors departmental schedules.
  • Assists, prepares, and administers the department budget.
  • Evaluates departmental performance, practices, and structure.
  • Works with other departments, agencies, and the general public to achieve departmental goals.
  • Communicates effectively with all Slot personnel to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Ensures the adequacy of staffing to handle guest needs, including but not limited to change service, payoffs, game malfunctions, and safety issues.
  • Resolves guest complaints and concerns quickly and professionally to achieve maximum guest satisfaction in accordance with departmental guidelines;
  • Assists with new hires of the Slot Technical staff. Prepares and monitors departmental schedules.
  • Ensures that staff actively promote the Gaming Enterprise player loyalty program, promotional marketing activities, and other entertainment/hospitality options, such as restaurants.
  • Gives continuous feedback to employees, ensuring positive reinforcement regarding performance; provides consistent mentoring and coaching; and utilizes progressive discipline, as necessary, within Gaming Enterprise guidelines.
  • Ensures compliance with all related regulations.
  • Assesses staff training needs, either provides or ensures provision of training, and determines the effectiveness of training.
  • Recommends hiring, disciplinary actions, and termination decisions.
  • Ensures that staff are well-versed in departmental and Gaming Enterprise policies and general guest information to provide quality guest service.
  • Prepares reports regularly to update Slot management staff, including recommendations to improve guest service levels, employee morale, staffing levels, and the effectiveness of departmental and/or Gaming Enterprise policies and procedures.
  • Monitors the cleanliness of the Gaming Enterprise floor, including satellites and Slot offices.
  • Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures.
  • Performs duties that promote and execute excellent guest service.
  • Prepares and monitors departmental schedules.
  • Responsible for project tasks and assignments.
  • Performs project management duties with thoroughness and accuracy, such as performing needs and cost analyses, establishing project task lists and timelines, and forecasting project completion dates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential functions of the position:
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to fifty (50) pounds, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to reach above shoulder height, handle, pull, kneel, stoop, squat, grip, crouch, twist, and bend for duties and machine moves.
  • Must be able to work at and travel to all CDS properties.
  • Must be able to follow both verbal and written directions.
  • Must be able to read, write, and effectively communicate with all guests, team members, and internal/external vendors positively and professionally.
  • Must be able to work in environments with high noise levels, flashing lights, smoking areas, and large crowds.
  • Must be able to work in a high-pressure/fast-paced environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of Slot floor operations.
  • Knowledge of gaming laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of general accounting practices and principles.
  • Knowledge of employment policies and procedures, and Gaming Regulations
  • Knowledge of internal controls and gaming regulations; supervisory and management practices, procedures, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of conflict resolution practices, such as following a chain of command.
  • Knowledge of trend and operational analysis techniques; IGT Advantage online accounting system.
  • Knowledge of computer proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Knowledge of slot gaming industry terminology to include gameplay, audit functions, player's club features, and promotional activity.
  • Knowledge of the Gaming Enterprise human resources policies.
  • Knowledge of theories, principles, and practices of slot machine and coin handling equipment operation.
  • Skills in analyzing administrative and fiscal problems and in developing feasible and effective solutions.
  • Strong organizational, planning, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Skills in the use of electronic test equipment, power tools and other tools of the trade.
  • Skills in the use of personal computers and other office equipment.
  • Skills in working courteously with the public as well as developing and maintaining good working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate and follow directions effectively
  • Skills in English composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Ability to control costs related to manpower, productivity, and other expenses.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. AND at least three (3) years of progressively responsible Casino Slot experience.
  • Six (6) months as a Senior Slot Tech III or equivalent position.
  • Must be able to work (may require shift changes), weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening in accordance with company policy.
  • Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a valid gaming license/background check.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years of college-level coursework in business/public administration or an associated field
  • Two (2) years of Tribal Casino supervisory/management experience.
