Job description

DESCRIPTION: The Slot Manager is responsible for the performance and administration of the Technical and Operations Division of the Slot Department. As a leader and positive representative of Wind River Hotel & Casino, the Slot Manager will lead the Slots Team to achieve the Slot Department's goals and objectives in a timely and efficient manner while maximizing revenue opportunities. Provides leadership and direction to the Slot's team on all shifts. Ensures fast, friendly, timely and thorough repair and maintenance of all slot's related equipment while adhering to all laws, gaming regulations, policies and procedures. Acts as an expert on the proper operation and repair of slot equipment and communicates with management and / or the Tribal Gaming Office on machine, regulatory and customer complaint issues and problems. Responsible for all operational policies and procedures within the Gaming Enterprise. Title 24: Non-Safety Sensitive Position
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Exhibits superb team leadership/development and partnering ability while working with department team members and other department staff.
  • Assists with the development of long-term strategic planning regarding Slots; ensures delivery is consistent with the Gaming Enterprise's mission and business strategy
  • Implements guest service standards throughout the operation; monitors employees to assure they provide service in accordance with the standards and takes action to correct deficiencies
  • Performs walk-throughs and visually inspects the gaming floor to ensure product placement, presentation and safety standards are aligned with Enterprise standards
  • Manages, directs, and supervises all Slot Techs and Slot Attendant staff
  • Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures. Monitors staffing levels and assists subordinate supervisors in making adjustments according to business levels and conditions.
  • Monitors departmental schedules.
  • Assists in the preparation and administration of the department budget.
  • Maximizes revenues and control expenses
  • Holds regularly scheduled meetings with supervisors
  • Assists with reviews and evaluation of departmental performance on a regular basis and works with the supervisors to take appropriate steps in resolving unsatisfactory results or conditions
  • Reviews financial statements and forecasts; gives input and ideas on how to increase profits and cut costs in all areas of the department.
  • Reviews and approves supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, such as interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; and employee relations.
  • Works with other departments, agencies, and general public to achieve departmental goals.
  • Responsible for team member interviews, selection, training, performance evaluation, performance correction and termination, as necessary
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (tribal, state, and federal.) and attendant regulations as well as the Company's internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Slot Technical operations and analysis
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong product and technical knowledge across the broad spectrum of available slot products, including games (hardware, software, and available configurations) and ancillary equipment such as but not limited to progressive controllers, host systems, signage
  • Ability to think strategically, synthesize complex business/financial data, and develop innovative solutions
  • Knowledge of general accounting practices and principles
  • Knowledge of finance and human resources applications

  • GAMING INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED

MANDATORY POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associates degree, unless waived by Executive Management
  • Five (5) years casino Slot Technical experience with at least two (2) years Slot Supervisory level or higher experience, unless waived by Executive Management
  • Combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Computer proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Must have working knowledge of AutoCAD or be willing to complete training when opportunity is presented
  • Demonstrated track record of successes, reliability, responsiveness, and creativity
  • Demonstrated track record of providing excellent customer service
  • Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events, and as needed
  • Must be available 24/7 for questions
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Must be 21 at time of hire.
  • Must be able to work in a smoking environment.
  • Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have good manual and finger dexterity.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to stand, push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • Must be able to demonstrate their US work authorization during the employment verification process.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment Drug Test.
  • Must have a valid Wyoming Driver's License.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License.
