Job description

Position Summary:
Responsibilities include providing friendly, efficient service to internal and external guests, and overseeing the day-to-day operations during a daily shift of the slot floor operation. The Slot Shift Manager must make decisions affecting the department that have an effect on gaming revenue, guest service and Team Member relations. This position provides guidance, counseling, and support to subordinate Team Members and their direct reports, as well as promotes compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for practicing, supporting and promoting Graton Resort & Casino's Company-wide culture and demonstrating Graton Resort & Casino's Service Standards at all times.
2. Monitors and coordinates the activities of slot department Team Members, responding to and following up on guest requests and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
3. Ensures the slot systems are operating effectively and efficiently, working with IT to diagnose system related outages or issues.
4. Investigates guest claims and gaming disputes related to slot machines. Must utilize various resources such as surveillance, slot recall data and slot systems to make proper determinations when resolving claims and disputes. Through negotiations, reasoning and sound judgement, must determine the legitimacy of slot payout claims and relative compensation.
5. Resolves conflict involving Team Members and guests by maintaining a professional environment and promoting department and company goals.
6. Responsible for maintaining proper staffing levels that are sufficient to cover the floor operations, maintaining established quality service standards in the absence of key employees for support to the Manager and Director.
7. Responsible for regular communications including counseling team, troubleshooting system issues, relaying inter-department concerns, required to routinely meet with guests, Team Members, management and other departments to relay important information, identify issues of concern and work towards solutions.
8. Promotes compliance towards all applicable rules and regulations. This includes but is not limited to Gaming Commission Regulations, Slot Operating Procedures, and Title 31.
9. Efficiently process all requests for overrides on jackpots and fills.
Required Qualifications:
1. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
2. Three (3) years of experience in gaming, with a concentration in slots, preferred.
3. Two (2) years' experience in management, preferably in slot operations.
4. Experience with slot system applications, including ticketing and slot accounting.
5. Proficient in computer software applications, such as Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
6. Ability to coach, counsel, develop and discipline subordinates.
Physical Requirements:
1. Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
2. Ability to walk throughout slot floor for extended periods of time.
3. Ability to bend, kneel, reach, lift and sit.
4. Able to hear radio transmissions. Able to communicate clearly on radio.
5. Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.
