Job Summary
The X Center Slot Car Operator is responsible for delivering an engaging, entertaining and memorable guest experience through the operation of the M1 Concourse X Center's signature slot car racing attraction. This position manages race operations, guest participation, tournament coordination, queue management and basic track maintenance while creating an energetic and welcoming atmosphere for guests of all ages. The Slot Car Operator serves as both host and attraction ambassador, providing race instruction, enthusiastic commentary, conflict resolution and technical support to ensure safe, fair and uninterrupted operation of the racing experience.  The X Center Slot Car Operator shall represent M1 Concourse with the highest level of professionalism and decorum.
Job Responsibilities
  • Assists children and inexperienced participants in understanding race controls and procedures. 
  • Assists with attraction setup, opening procedures and closing procedures. 
  • Collaborates with fellow operators and Team Members during peak operating periods. 
  • Conducts race briefings and ensures participants understand competition guidelines.
  • Coordinates individual races, group events, tournaments and special competitions. 
  • Delivers energetic commentary and race announcements to enhance the guest experience. 
  • Ensures adherence to company policies, operational procedures and safety requirements. 
  • Ensures fair competition and consistently applies race rules and operating procedures. 
  • Inspects slot cars and racing equipment to ensure proper functionality and presentation. 
  • Maintains a guest-first mindset and promotes an atmosphere of fun, excitement and sportsmanship.
  • Maintains a safe and welcoming environment for guests of all ages. 
  • Maintains cleanliness and presentation standards throughout attraction areas. 
  • Monitors queue lines and manages guest flow to minimize wait times and maximize attraction utilization. 
  • Operates and oversees daily slot car racing activities and guest participation. 
  • Operates timing and scoring systems.
  • Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of slot car tracks and equipment. 
  • Removes damaged equipment from service and reports maintenance needs promptly. 
  • Responds professionally and effectively to guest questions, concerns and disputes. 
  • Supports special events, private functions, tournaments and hospitality experiences. 
  • Troubleshoots minor operational issues including car derailments, track connectivity, dirty braids and lane interruptions.
  • Welcomes guests and provides instruction regarding attraction rules, safety requirements, and race procedures. 
  • Performs all other duties as may be required and assigned.
