Job description

Position Summary:

The Slot Technician will maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the various electronic gaming devices as manufacturers update and create new machines and equipment necessary to service and repair machines.  Apply this knowledge to the ongoing slot maintenance program set forth by Management.  Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.


Essential Functions:

1.    Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” company-wide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.

2.    Perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs/maintenance on all slot machines and related or associated equipment.

3.    Perform repairs on the casino floor on all gaming devices, ATMs, Guest kiosks, Slot Team Member kiosks, and associated equipment.

4.    Assist in the preventative maintenance of all slot machines and related equipment, including but not limited to changers, signs, carts and NRT’s.

5.    Move slot machines and handle installations, conversions, and removals.  Install and remove signage.

6.    Resolve technical issues using accepted problem solving and trouble-shooting methods.

7.    Perform slot machine model and denomination conversions.

8.    Assist Slot Team Members with technical issues on slot machines as requested.

9.    Be present on the casino floor to address problems with slot machines as they occur.

10.    Keep slot shop and all working areas clean and safe.

11.    Ensure machines are clean and in proper working order.

12.    Keep accurate and up-to-date records of completed work.

13.    Complete work order log entries on all machines.

14.    Comply with all signatory requirements.

15.    Comply with all Slot Department policies and provide constructive feedback to Slot Department Management on necessary changes and improvements.

16.    Be aware of all upcoming events and promotions. Demonstrate an understanding and awareness of the Thunder Rewards program.

17.    Maintain up-to-date knowledge of video and slot machines and related equipment.

18.    Maintain working knowledge of Title 31 requirements and internal control policies.

19.    Responsible for maintaining the Hazard Communication Standard for your area.
 

Minimum Qualifications:

1.    Six (6) months slot machine repair or equivalent experience.

2.    High school education or equivalent.

3.    Possess basic knowledge of electronics.

4.    Possess basic math skills and computer proficiency.

5.    Knowledge of the setup of slot and video machines and player tracking systems.

6.    Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and management in both written and verbal form.

7.    Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group situations.

8.    Ability to multi task while still maintaining a positive attitude.

9.    Must be at least 21 years of age.

10.    Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.


Physical Requirements:

1.    Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
2.    Ability to stand and walk for duration of shift.  

3.    Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.

4.    Ability to move up to 50 lbs. using a hand truck with or without assistance.

5.    Ability to hear radio transmissions and communicate clearly on radio. Must be able to wear an earpiece with radio. 


Work Conditions:

Work is typically conducted in the casino, which may be hot, cold, noisy, and be in the presence of secondhand smoke. Team Members may be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull, and grasp. These tasks include the maintenance and care of an assigned area. Team Member must possess proper safety training in the use of chemicals.  Frequent contact with fellow Team Members and Guests is standard.
