Position Summary

Electrical Controls and Software Engineer – reports to the Sr Manager, Engineering. This role designs, develops, and supervises electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery. Responsibilities include design, build, validation, installation, and technical support of control systems hardware and software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop control systems designs – gathering requirements, system level design, PLC & HMI programming, system validation, and implementation.
  • Perform calculations, design validations, and use AutoCAD Electrical for support customers and corporate functions.
  • Estimate and manage control systems design labor and materials.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts within the electrical & controls group.
  • Generate engineering procedures and guidelines and ensure compliance with engineering, company, industry, and government requirements applicable to electrical and controls.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and controls systems and equipment.
Required Qualifications
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in electrical and controls engineering.
  • Proficiency with Rockwell and Siemens PLC programming environments.
  • Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Familiarity with North American electrical codes and industry standards (UL, CSA, NFPA, NEC, IEC) and designing electrical circuits and panels for industrial equipment.
Salary

Estimated annual salary range: $85,000 – $115,000. Salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience.

Travel & Location

Onsite position with approximately 10% travel.
