Job description

The Slots Floorperson is responsible for providing guests with a positive experience and maintaining Downtown Grand's brand standards as set by the Director of Player Development.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
  • Welcomes guests efficiently and courteously creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.
  • Provides fast, friendly, and the highest quality of service to guests at all times.
  • Proactively communicates features and all related promotions, membership and property facilities to gaming guests on the slot floor.
  • Observes all activities in assigned area, offers assistance and advise slot players on the machine functions, pay tables and payouts.
  • Enroll new players into the Grand Rewards Players Club and maintain information ensuring contact information is up to date.
  • Redeem, issue and assist in the execution of floor promotions, direct message/email campaigns and special events that take place in the Casino.
  • Remains informed of various property events and relays event information to guests.
  • Respond to the guest inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Assists in ticket refilling and minor fault resolution and repair.
  • Ensures all machines are operational and working in a correct manner.
  • Communicates and documents all faults through proper channels.
  • Ensures safe handling of money and TITO tickets are in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Verifies payouts and process of payments within permitted limitations.
  • Maintains working knowledge of documentation required in transactions including jackpots, ticket voucher redemptions, Title 31 compliance, dispatch logs and machine entries.
  • Ensure prompt and discrete notification to management and/or security of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations.
  • Protects company assets.
  • Verify and ID guests to ensure players are of legal gaming age.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to proactively build relationships with guests.
  • Shows a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discretely notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.
  • Ability to accurately maintain company funds including cash, chips and TITO tickets.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and friendly attitude toward guests as well as other team members.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of Slot experience.
  • Knowledge of Title 31.
  • Knowledge of Slots games in order to explain rules to guests.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Must be able to operate handheld validation unit and enter information into computer.
  • Must be able to comprehend all information and documentation.
  • Ability to obtain Gaming Registration.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Move around all work areas effectively and efficiently.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Ability to work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, and smoke.
  • Follow all safety procedures as established by the company.
