Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Clerk NY

Sloomoo launched in October of 2019 with an immersive 12,000 square-foot experience in Soho, NYC, where hand-crafted, artisanal slime (dozens of textures and the most delicious scents), soothing ASMR, and wondrous delights (you can slingshot slime, walk on slime, design your own slime, and more) converge with glossy, contemporary design.


Sloomoo’s universe has expanded - there are now a total of 5 Institutes (NYC, LA, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta) and two MiniMoos (Boston, Philadelphia) with more to come.


MiniMoos are smaller than the Institutes but packed with as much color, surprise, and play.

Position Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate receiving, handling, tracking, packing, and distribution of inventory across production, retail, and e-commerce channels.

This role plays a critical part in maintaining inventory accuracy, product quality, and timely shipments while supporting a clean, organized, and efficient back-of-house operation. The position requires both physical capability and attention to detail, operating within a structured workflow that emphasizes accountability, quality control, and teamwork.

Responsibilities:

Shipping, Receiving & Inventory
  • Receive, unload, inspect, and stock incoming shipments efficiently

  • Accurately track inventory movements and maintain real-time records

  • Perform cycle counts, audits, and resolve inventory discrepancies

  • Maintain organized and clearly labeled storage areas

Production Support & Labeling
  • Pack and label products (including DIY slime kits) with accuracy and consistency

  • Follow FIFO (first in, first out) inventory practices

  • Support production flow and organization of finished goods

Back-of-House Operations
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace

  • Perform cleaning duties and uphold operational standards

  • Support overall workflow efficiency and organization

Quality Control & Workflow
  • Conduct quality checks at key stages (post-production, packing, shipping)

  • Ensure accuracy through structured processes and verification steps

  • Escalate any inventory or quality issues promptly

Team Collaboration & Additional Duties
  • Work cross-functionally with production, retail, and leadership teams

  • Assist with new location openings and inventory distribution

  • Adapt to changing priorities and perform additional duties as assigned

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs

  • Comfortable bending, reaching, standing for extended periods, and navigating stairs

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience in inventory, warehouse, or production environments preferred

  • Familiarity with inventory systems (Accumatica a plus)

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team

  • Flexible availability (including evenings, weekends, and holidays)
