Patients depend on our team for the best in evidence-based care and innovative therapies, such as inhaled nitric oxide, high-frequency oscillation, and invasive and non-invasive ventilator support modalities. Opportunities exist for motivated Registered Respiratory Therapists (and Certified Respiratory Therapy Technicians) with the skills to provide a high level of quality service in a variety of settings including the ED, Trauma and Critical Care.
Summary:
Provides care for patients undergoing sleep studies and sleep disorder treatment.
Responsibilities:
Performs testing and any additional testing required for sleep disorder that is noted.Scores, interprets and reports results of sleep studies. Educates patients about test results, sleep disorders, community support groups, and available resources.Prepares, calibrates, troubleshoots, and maintains equipment required for testing. Determines and reports needed repairs and replacements.Prepares for the arrival of the patient by setting up and preparing the equipment for the ordered test. Interviews patient/parent to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures.

Other Information: ** Successful completion of a Board Registered Polysomnography (BRPT) pathway to meet the educational requirements for the Registered Technologist (RPSGT) exam is required. Can be Registered as a Sleep Technologist (RST) or Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Certified Polysomnographic Technologist (CPSGT) or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS). National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) credential is preferred.
