Job description

About the Role
govSlackers is looking for a Slack Architect to lead the technical design behind our customer engagements. This is a hands-on, deeply technical role for someone who can architect scalable, secure, and well-governed Slack environments. The ideal candidate enjoys solving tough technical problems as much as talking through them with customers. You'll partner closely with our Slack Consultants, taking the business needs they've uncovered and turning them into robust technical architecture: integrations, automations, governance frameworks, and custom-built solutions on the Slack platform.
What You'll Do
  • Own the technical architecture for customer Slack implementations, from workspace/org structure through integrations, security, and governance
  • Design and build integrations between Slack and other enterprise systems (Salesforce, ITSM tools, identity providers, custom APIs) using Slack's APIs, Bolt SDK, and Workflow Builder
  • Lead technical discovery sessions with customer IT, security, and compliance stakeholders to understand constraints and requirements
  • Define governance frameworks covering channel management, app approval, data retention, and access controls, especially for customers with strict security or compliance requirements
  • Partner with Slack Consultant to translate business requirements into scalable, secure technical designs
  • Build custom apps, workflows, and automations that extend Slack's native capabilities to meet customer-specific needs
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other consultants and engineers on the delivery team
  • Stay current on Slack's evolving platform and AI-powered capabilities, and evaluate how new features can be applied to customer environments
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues during implementation and provide post-launch technical support

What We're Looking For
  • Deep, hands-on experience administering and/or developing on the Slack platform, ideally including Enterprise Grid environments
  • Strong experience designing technical architecture in enterprise environments, including integrations, identity/SSO, APIs, and system design
  • Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks relevant to enterprise or public-sector environments
  • Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Prior consulting or professional services experience
  • Experience with Slack's Bolt SDK, Workflow Builder, or custom app development
  • Familiarity with the Salesforce ecosystem
  • Experience with government or public-sector clients and related compliance frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, StateRAMP)
  • Slack-issued certifications (e.g., Slack Certified Admin, Slack Certified Developer)

This role reports to the CEO. This is a primarily remote position, but may require travel to customer sites, less than 25% of the time. This is a full-time, salaried position that offers comprehensive benefits and a salary range of $140,000 to $210,000 annually, plus bonus, based on level of experience.
To be eligible for this position you must be a U.S. citizen.
