Job description

The AMB Family Office (AMBFO) provides investment management and financial planning services to Arthur Blank and members of his family. Position Summary
This is a full-time position that reports to the Director of Finance and is responsible for traditional accounting and finance duties, including monthly reporting such as bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries for multiple entities. In addition, this position will prepare financial reporting including the monthly financial statements, annual budgets, audit workpapers, and tax workpapers. This role requires in-office presence five days a week.
Role and Responsibilities
  • General Ledger - Coordination, preparation, documentation of daily transactions; monthly closing entries; intercompany processing and balancing;
  • Coordinate with accounts payable to process and approve payments;
  • Process and approve employee reimbursements and track company credit cards;
  • Bank account reconciliations;
  • Tracking and reconciling capital expenditures;
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial reporting package, including balance sheets, income statements, and commentary on significant variances;
  • Prepare and analyze the annual budget and generate the presentation, collaborating with department heads, reforecasting current year, and providing commentary on significant variances;
  • Collaborate on other projects or duties as needed;
  • Ad-hoc internal reporting and financial analysis.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in accounting.
  • 2-3 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with Windows-based accounting systems; proficiency in Word.
  • Willingness to work on-site at the Family Office, with flexibility to work extended hours as needed.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and full-cycle accounting.
  • Demonstrated aptitude with general ledger systems, subsystems, and system interfaces.
  • Proven ability to support improvements in GL systems and financial reporting processes.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a small-team environment with moderate supervision.
  • High level of confidentiality, strong communication skills, and effective time-management, and organizational capabilities.
  • An individual who demonstrates the ability to bring enthusiasm and a solutions-focused mindset to daily work.

  • Great Plains Dynamics software experience, Concur experience, Vena experience, system implementation, and financial statement preparation and analysis.
