Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of underground utility systems to identify defects, leaks, and damage.
  • Analyze inspection results to diagnose the cause of issues, such as leaks, blockages, or system failures.
  • Develop effective repair strategies and solutions based on diagnostic findings.
  • Perform necessary repairs, replacements, or maintenance on underground utility systems, following industry standards and safety guidelines.
  • Install, replace, or repair pipes, connectors, and related components.
  • Plan and execute sewer drain & water line replacement projects, including excavation, pipe removal, and installation of new sewer/ water lines.
  • Safely operate excavation equipment, including excavators and backhoes, to dig trenches for accessing sewer/ water lines.
  • Ensure the proper excavation depth and safety standards are maintained during the process.
  • Operate heavy machinery and equipment for excavation and backfilling tasks.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to protect both personal and public safety.
  • Ensure all work is compliant with local, state, and federal regulations related to underground utility systems.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance work.
  • Communicate with residential property owners and clients regarding repairs, timelines, and expectations on backfill.
  • Address client concerns and answer questions professionally and courteously.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and care of tools, equipment, and vehicles used in underground repair work.
  • Report any equipment issues for repair or replacement.
  • Preparing job truck and trailer with tools and material needed for project
  • Keep the job site clean, safe, and organized
  • Care for tools and equipment
  • Assist in preparing existing line for liner install
  • Measure and weigh proper materials to be used for installation
  • Reconnect small plumbing fixtures

Qualifications:
  • Experience operating/ handling mini excavators, skid steers, trench shields, and shoring.
  • Mechanically minded.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials.
  • Current driver's license with good driving record, CDL a plus.
  • Experienced in installing residential/ light commercial underground drain and water systems.
  • OSHA 10/ Trenching & Shoring class.
  • 3-5+ years in excavation, underground pipe replacement.
  • Experience in CIPP Lining a plus, hydro-jetting, CCTV
  • Willingness to learn specialized skills for successful liner installs
  • Mechanically minded
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials
  • Current driver's license with good driving record
  • Experience in sewer drain cleaning

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
To adequately perform the duties of this job, the employee is regularly and routinely required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, stoop hands to finger, handle controls; hear, and talk. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to climb ladders, work in hot and cold environments, and work in small crawl spaces. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 50lbs and up. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
The work environment can vary depending on the season and scope of work - employees are required to work outdoors throughout the seasons. The work environment will subject employees to continual interruptions and changing priorities. Effective, consistent, and constant communication with customers, vendors, co-workers, and others is required.
