Massanutten Resort is seeking a Ski Lift Mechanic/Electrician to join our Ski Maintenance team. This is not your typical maintenance position. You will play a critical role in maintaining the aerial lifts and surface conveyors that power our mountain operations, working alongside a skilled team focused on safety, reliability, and excellence.
What You Will Do
As a Lift Mechanic/Electrician, you'll help keep our mountain moving by:
  • Performing routine maintenance on aerial lifts, our Mountain Mayhem Coaster, and surface conveyor
  • Troubleshooting electrical systems and wiring issue
  • Conducting preventative maintenance inspections and repair
  • Installing and maintaining slope lighting systems
  • Assisting with mechanical repairs and operational improvement
  • Maintaining a safe, organized work environment
  • Collaborating with fellow technicians to ensure safe and efficient operations

What We Are Looking For
Required Qualifications
    • Must be at least 18 years old
    • Have experience with basic hand tools
    • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
    • Comfortable working at heights up to 70 feet
    • Ability to lift to 100 pounds

Desired Qualifications
    • Vocational training in electrical or mechanical trades
    • Lift operations experience
    • Welding and fabrication experience
    • Equipment operation experience
    • Valid driver's license with an approved driving record

Typical Schedule
Days:
    • Spring/Summer: Monday-Thursday, weekends and holidays required when aerial lift is operating
    • Fall/Winter: Monday-Friday, weekends and holidays required

Hours:
    • Spring/Summer: 7am-5pm, additional hours as needed
    • Winter: 7am-5pm, occasional late evenings as needed

Core Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance on aerial lifts, the Mountain Mayhem Coaster, and surface conveyors
  • Troubleshoot electrical wiring
  • Conduct preventative maintenance checks
  • Install new lighting systems
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Other duties as assigned by management
