Job description

Learn To Skate Instructor

Job Purpose

Teaching pre-beginner to advance lessons using ISI guidelines. The Instructor will assist in the testing and advancement of Learn to Skate participants.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Instruct lessons according to the program guidelines
  • Actively recruit new skaters and lesson participants
  • Effectively use customer service skills to control customer interactions
  • Communicate all information verbally and in writing to supervisors
  • Educate the public to the habits and attitudes of safe ice activities
  • Accurately evaluate placements of students for skating instruction
  • Prepare and sign all certificates and course record sheets
  • Enforce all rules regarding rink policies and operating procedures
  • Execute policies and procedures professionally and accurately
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for guests and staff
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings
  • Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with ISI and USFSA skating programs
  • Member in good standing with PSA
  • Extensive skating background
  • Comprehensive knowledge of figure skating levels and requirements
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Must be willing to comply with all Federal, State and Local COVID mandates/guidelines

Working Conditions

Work is performed at a recreational facility and may be both indoors and outdoors. Some work may be done in an office environment using standard office equipment.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand and skate for long periods of time. This position can involve sitting, standing, walking, running, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
