Job description

The Pineville Ice House is an ice rink located on the south side of Charlotte, North Carolina that provides year round programs for hockey, figure skating and recreational skating.
Job Description:
  • Operate and manage all aspects of Pro Shop during retail hours including skate service and merchandise sales and service.
  • Maintain merchandise stocking, organization and cleanliness.
  • Work with the Pro Shop Manager to manage inventory including developing and placing restocking orders.
  • Assist with maintenance of rink rental skates.
  • Maintain and clean skate sharpening equipment.

Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Hockey playing experience at AAA, high school, junior or college levels.
  • Ice rink or other athletic facility operations and customer service experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of retail store environment.
  • Ability to operate mechanically controlled equipment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Friendly, outgoing, with a customer and sales focus.
  • Capacity to manage the details and technology related to retail management.

Schedule and Compensation:
  • 4-8 hours on Saturdays and Sundays (shop is open 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.); and Mondays from 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. ... other days can be scheduled based on need and availability
  • $14-18 per hour based on experience and availability
  • Hockey and rink fringe benefits, employee discount after probationary period.
