Job description

Definition

Under the direct supervision of the Area Child Development Specialist, the Site Supervisor Support is responsible for providing leadership oversight and ensuring the overall quality, compliance, and supervision of an assigned site. This role supports the care, education, and development of children from infancy through kindergarten while ensuring full compliance with the California Department of Education Early Learning and Care Division, Title 5 Funding Terms and Conditions, and Title 22 Community Care Licensing regulations.

The Site Supervisor Support provides ongoing monitoring and guidance to site staff, including Teachers, Teaching Assistants, and Volunteers/Interns, and serves as a member of the enrollment team. In the absence of the Early Childhood Education Director, this role will act as the primary site contact for the Community Care Licensing Analyst and conduct on-site inspections as needed.

    1. Program Leadership & Compliance
  • Oversee daily site operations to ensure compliance with Title 22 and Title 5 regulations.
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
  • Ensure all licensing requirements are met, including stafftochild ratios, facility safety, and emergency preparedness.
  • Implement curriculum and instructional practices aligned with early childhood education standards and program goals.
    1. 2. Staff Supervision & Development
  • Supervise Teachers, Teaching Assistants, and Volunteers/Interns to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Conduct staff evaluations every six months based on the following performance indicators: Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP), Parent Satisfaction Survey, Student Kindergarten Readiness Metrics, Attendance and reliability (including documentation of callouts impacting classroom operations), Classroom management and student engagement
  • Provide coaching, training, and professional development opportunities to support staff growth and performance.
    1. 3. Student & Family Engagement
  • Foster positive and collaborative relationships with children, families, and the surrounding community.
  • Ensure individualized learning plans are developed using assessments and ongoing observations.
  • Address behavioral concerns using positive guidance strategies.
  • Conduct parent conferences to discuss student progress, goals, and program updates.
    1. 4. Administrative & Operational Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and timely records related to attendance, student progress, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee budgeting and allocation of classroom materials and instructional supplies.
  • Ensure consistent and effective communication among staff, families, and leadership.
  • Monitor and enforce health and safety protocols, including daily child wellness checks.
    1. 5. Performance Evaluation & Accountability
  • Conduct biannual staff performance reviews using established program metrics.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with Title 5 funding requirements, including reporting and program effectiveness measures.
  • Address staff attendance concerns, documenting excessive callouts that impact classroom coverage or closures.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance program quality and outcomes.
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Early Childhood Studies or a related field.
  • Completion of an approved Infant/Toddler Training Program and a minimum of 6 units of Infant/Toddler Early Childhood coursework.
  • Valid Site Supervisor Permit (or eligibility to obtain one).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Preschool Teacher and at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong computer literacy with proficiency in oral and written English; bilingual proficiency preferred.
  • Must meet all physical clearance requirements, including a health examination and TB screening, and successfully pass a background clearance prior to employment.
